Time for Utah tax reform

I read this article from deseretnews.com and wasn't shocked.  I have lived in four different States, all in the west, and found Utah's taxes to be the worst.  Every year, i will out my taxes and fear what the Utah form has in store for me.  I always receive a wonderful refund from Federal, and typically a nice one from the state.  But ever since moving to Utah, I'm not so sure about the State portion of my taxes.  They are horribly family unfriendly, which is ironic considering Utah's "values".  Family friendly tax breaks were more prominent in California and Colorado that here.  I now they have a huge surplus.  For being run by self claimed conservatives, it sure doesn't seem like it. I think whoever is in charge of Utah tax laws is COMPLETELY incompetent.

Why do you think they are not family friendly?

How much do you want to bet that being family friendly would break the bank, because there are so many friendly families here!!

As for tax reform, I don't know anyone who would not support it.

Except maybe those who are paid with tax dollars...

the tax rate in Utah is one of the highest in the nation! we have education saying we don't have enough money, we have welfare programs claiming they don't have enough money and then we have a surplus! the our state government should lower the taxes fix our school system and get the money to the teachers and not the administrators and fix the welfare system to work like it should and not as it does.
