Anit-Mormon DVD released - Hundred Dead, Riots, Protests.....

At least that is what would have happened if a similar DVD was released about Mohammed.  In this case it is about the Mormons, but i don't see any riots or murder, beheadings.

The group that released this DVD even included the following words of advice:

CAUTION: This video is to be viewed by CHRISTIANS ONLY until AFTER the nation-wide distribution which is scheduled for March 25, 2007. In-other-words, do not allow any Mormon people to view the video or learn of our intended evangelistic outreach until after March 25, 2007.

Why such extreme caution? If the leadership of the Mormon cult learns of our plans, they will publicly instruct their people not to watch the video and many Mormons will blindly obey.

If are interested in a clear take on it, look here:

Once again, Mormons are free game.

It is also interesting that it comes just after the announcment that the LDS church is now the 4th largest church in the US.

I would like to see the financial statements of those responsible for this DVD. How do they earn their living? Who financed this enterprise? I wonder if it has anything to do with professional clergy or Evangelists that rely on donations to support themselves. Isn't that called "priestcraft" in the scriptures?

We just received about 100 of these DVD's and companion books at my work today. Somebody found a mailing list and spent about $2.88 to send these to us to make sure that we were not being dupped. What a waste of money.

I received one of those videos the other day.  It was on my porch when I returned home from Church.  I had no desire to watch the video, but thought I would take a look at their website to see what was up with them.  I wasn't surprised to see there was a minister behind it and an ex-communicated Mormon.  I kindly wrote them the following email.  Here is what I emailed:

Thanks for the DVD.  I'm sorry that the beliefs of my church have caused you so much alarm that you would have to go to such great lengths to try and fix what appears to you to be such an apparent conflict.  I don't plan on viewing the DVD; my beliefs are solid and will not change.  But, I wanted to express my thanks for your concern and for the time you took delivering the DVD to my door step.  Good luck with your ministry.

By the way, your quote on the website is correct.  We don't believe in the traditional Christ.  Why would we?  If we believed in the same Christ all Christendom believed in we wouldn't know who Christ is either.  They can't even agree on who and what he is.  Every sect has imagined up in their hearts and minds a different God and Christ.  Who Christ really is, has been revealed in this dispensation through the Prophet Joseph Smith.  Just like President Hinckley said.  It was a good quote to use.

I received 5 emails back from them saying the same thing; here it is:
First of all, thank you for taking the time to send us an email. I would challenge you to view the DVD -- I understand that your beliefs are solid and will not change. Please view the DVD, and investigate the claims that it makes -- truth never fears investigation.

Thank you,

David Collett

It almost felt like that was a double dog dare.  "I double dog dare you to watch the video!"  No; "I triple dog dare you!"  Oh wait; I did receive one more email from them... Here it is:

If every Mormon were as honest as you, we would not need to produce videos like the Jesus Christ / Joseph Smith DVD. The reason we are alarmed is because your church is not nearly as honest as you.

You are the kind of Mormon we would love to have watch the DVD and give us your feedback. Is the video accurate LDS history or not? Do we accurately present Mormon doctrine? Do we take LDS quotes out of context? If even half of the information in the video is true, then Joseph's claim to be a prophet of God is in serious question.

Go ahead, watch the DVD, I tripple dog dare you. :^)
