What's on my mind?  My girlfriend is leaving for Peru for two weeks today.  Ugh.

On another note, I'm sick of people associating the "war on terror" in Iraq with 9/11.  The events are COMPLETELY unrelated, people.  Completely.

And along the same lines, I laugh at the moniker "war on terror", a vague statement if ever there was one.  You can't fight a war against a frame of mind.  It's just like the "war on drugs" or "war on poverty".  They end up just being fiscal sinkholes of controversial policy by those looking to expand their power and dominion.  Just look at how centralized our government has recently become, with the executive assuming more and more power.  This is EXACTLY the reason why the Founders created a Constitution--to limit the federal power, tear it down, and reserve it for local government where there was far more accountability and involvement.

I would *love* to know what George Washington is thinking as he observes our current government from the other side of the veil...

Somehow I think that the applause was more for the Prophet than the veep.  A friend who was there confirmed the same notion - the loud cheers were for a man of God, not the man of torture.

Ah, just read that there were 18 rounds of applause during the veep's talk.  Barf.

Somehow my own BYU diploma now feels less prestigious when I think that Cheney has one as well...

Do the Jazz even have a chance?  And does anyone that reads this site even care?

I just broke the layout on every Utah state agency website... Oops.  All fixed now.

I have always been taught (and teach my children) to honor the office not necessarily the man.  If he is good enough to be invited by the First Presidency then that is good enough to me.

I think the Jazz have a chance if Okur could make a shot and the team could make a larger percentage of their free throws.

Back to work.

The Jazz may win tomorrow, but they'll lose again when they get back to Houston.  It's nice to see that some things never change!

Okur is my favorite, but he's killing me, but i think most of the fault lies with Sloan.  He's too set in his ways for this new generation of players.  I think he sets his game substitution schedule a week in advance and sticks to it no matter what is happening in the game.  Millsap should have had solid minutes in the 3rd and 4th quarters of games 1 & 2.  He's definately a better match up for Ming on the offensive side and McGrady owns Fisher. I'm also sick of AK being wasted in the wrong position...

I think Sloan has long been the problem of the Jazz.  He may have been a good coach for old school players, but these young excited kids that just want to play need to be let loose.  two cents.

Dan Simpson is a crack head!  A $1,000 fine and a year in prison; specialy organized police forces that have the right to enter your home or business and seize any gun they find; those who purchase a gun would need to deliver it to a museum; when you want to go hunting you can request you gun from the depository but it must be immediatly returned upon pain of penalty, etc.  This guy is a freakin nut job!  Talk about a way to start a second Civil War.

Some of the great sci-fi writers from the 30's 40's and 50's were prophets in my opinion.  Several of them decsribe this very senario.
If you haven't read Fahrenheit 451 lately or 1984, do yourself a favor and read them again.  I get chills every time.

True, Orwell was a Democratic Socialist, but he wasn't an American.  He didn't understand how good we have it here.

I've been on vacation this week in Idaho. Just spent the day fishing on the Henry's Fork. All I can say is that I sure had a better day fishing than the rest of you did working and playing on the computer.
