Venezuela

That is all i should need to say to start a discussion about this.

I guess you spice things up, i could say, "Hey Melchor, you got your socialism." :-)

As Hugo took over the TV station, i guess they were saying that now the TV belongs to "the people" again.  Funny how in a socialist society, "the people" means "the leader" and not the people.

Will the people rise to stop this madness??

If Venezuela was gone, would anybody miss it?

This is one reason I dislike socialism. The government has eminent domain over everything and anything. If they want to control it, they seize it in the name of the people. I'm just waiting for the Chinese government to do this to Walmart.

Chavez didn't take them over. He just took their license away. Big difference. My flavor of socialism would take a licence away for liable conduct, but not take over the business. You guys forget that my flavor isn't what we all communism. It is socialism.

You want to know the reason why? Maybe because the assumed objective of the TV station was to assasinate the President. Read the article from CNN.

Something is wrong when you take away freedom of speech.

No, they really did take over the station.

"Chavez announced in January that the government would not renew RCTV's license. He accused the station of supporting the failed 2002 coup against him and violating broadcast laws.

RCTV, which had been broadcasting for 53 years, was replaced by a state-run station -- TVes -- on Monday."

The station was replaced by what??
