Rep. Wayne Harper, R-West Jordan: Probably a closet democrat right?

From the article:
"I have little sympathy for these kind of hare-brained ideas," Drake said. "I think it is absolutely insensitive to people who have to drive every single day to work and back and who are literally living almost hand to mouth. I am so disgusted with the insensitivity to the common man and woman who have to work."

Insensitivity is a hallmark of a one party system like we have in Utah.  Really doesn't matter if the one party is democrat or republican though, I am sure  you can find equally insensitive actions taken in democratic strongholds.

Insensitivity is the hallmark of a two party system like we have in the nation.

I say that because 90% of the people who look at this site and comment, would consider themselves conservative, yet we all disagree on certain issues. If you added the total array of people from the left, you would have a quite the spread.

RationalRep is right. Sounds like a republican getting on Hillary's band wagon and realizing there is a serious problem and that this needs to be solved.

Insensitivity to human needs is a by product of capitalism and money mindedness.

Insensitivity to human needs is a by product of human weekness and weak mindedness.

Money does not corrupt people.

People corrupt money.  Do you suppose the money has some mystical power on it's own?  Does money have any value if no one is there to trade it with.

If money has no value without someone to trade with, isn't the only with of value the trade of value and not the money.  Can you not trade other items besides money for value?

So if value is found only in its exchange, and people are the only ones that offer value, money is only the by product.

Therefore, the only thing that can be corrupted is the money or any other result from a person that has no value.

How can you blame it on money, when money is also the solution? Doesn't it require money to perform acts of good?

Money mindedness is nothing more than someone who thinks that money has value, value which can become corrupt. That being said, this would make Melchor money mined.

And me, the capitalist, people minded.  Because people are the only thing of value.

Duh?

btw, notice that Melchor and RationRepub are the ones who must be feeling guilty about this or something.  No one made this a republican for democrat thing accept them??

The point of me posting this was to point out that no one likes a tax hike, even when republicans bring them up.

I never said anything about money itself. I said : Insensitivity to human needs is a by product of capitalism and money mindedness.
I was making a remark about capitalism not money. and money mindedness is when people think money, live money and will do anything for it. I think most of us have run into good mormons on Sunday who are sniveling, kniving scoundrels on the weekdays and validate what they do in the name of business and making money.
For me, this "human weekness and weak mindedness" is rampant in both political parties... but traditionally it is stronger in the right... and it is still true today.
