Good Job Americans!

via BMEWS:

For all the GFW’s* out there, here’s your worst nightmare story:

U.S. most armed country with 90 guns per 100 people

GENEVA (Reuters) - The United States has 90 guns for every 100 citizens, making it the most heavily armed society in the world, a report released on Tuesday said.

U.S. citizens own 270 million of the world’s 875 million known firearms, according to the Small Arms Survey 2007 by the Geneva-based Graduate Institute of International Studies.

About 4.5 million of the 8 million new guns manufactured worldwide each year are purchased in the United States, it said.

“There is roughly one firearm for every seven people worldwide. Without the United States, though, this drops to about one firearm per 10 people,” it said.

Bwahahahaha.  That’s right baby, 9 out of 10.

Now, our good friend Kim has a slightly different take:

Some people are going to greet this news with glee. I’m not one of them.

Come on, people: everyone knows that you need at least a handgun, a shotgun and a rifle to be a functioning member of society. So the correct ratio should be 300 guns per hundred population. (And, as I’ve said many times before, we should ignore .22 rifles from the count, of course, because they are not weapons, but a household commodity like salt or sugar.)

I do celebrate, but Kim’s astute observation leaves me humble as always.

No wonder the Democrats are afraid. If we wanted to, we could take over the country again. That wouldn't help with there power plans.

This is also why an assault directly on our country wouldn't ever work.

This is one reason why Switzerland has been so successful in keeping their sovereignty. Every capable male was required to join the military. Once finished with service, they were in the military reserves for life and kept their weapons with them in their home.

you need to remember that about 60% of republicans own guns and about 45% of democrats own them. most guns are sold in the poor southern states with a huge democrat demography. most of these gun owning dems look like the dogs in Des's avator. keep in mind that not all dems hate or oppose guns. on the other hand, more and more republicans are distancing themselves from guns.

i would bet that Texas, Utah, Idaho ect have more guns per person.

Texas is on the list of the top 15 poorest states. I think they rank about #12. I would say Utah and Idaho have a great number of guns, but don't forget Wyoming.
Having lived in the south for a while, I would agree with Melkor. Louisiana, Tennessee, Kentucky and so on have a great number of red necks (or coon assses) with guns.

I bet that if we went back 30 years, Utah would be one of the top gun owning states in the Union. Currently, we have too many liberal immigrants from the foreign country called California who are contaminating us and making Rocky's out of some native Utahns.

the day we give up our right to bear arms is the day we will be enslaved
