This is just another brick in the magic road to taking responsiblity of family away from parents. Although I agree that dialogue about spanking may be necessary, I think this will take the focus away from what we should be talking about... spanking vs. real child abuse and why discipline among younger generations in deteriorating.

One time I was talking to a bunch of other guys at a fitness club and spanking came up. About half the group agreed with spanking and half disagreed. One of the supporters of spanking said "We'll see who's child learns faster about running out in the middle of the street; my child who I will spank if I find them doing this, or your dead child who never listens to you because they have no incentive."

Has anyone ever heard about the "Red Hot Stove Theory"?
