The Iowa Caucus turned out a little different than I thought. I knew Hillary would loose, but I didn't think she would be blown out of the water by Obama AND Edwards (good thing). I was hoping for Mitt to win the GOP. I find it interresting that Guiliani didn't even make the top three and that the #3, McCain, received such a low number of votes.

As we look forward to the New Hampshire Caucus, I think we'll see Hillary do better (not good) and Mitt and McCain will do better as Huckabee takes a distant 3rd to 5th place.

Were you guys as borred watching foodball as I was on New Years Day? The only good game was Michigan and Florida; however, I wanted Florida to win. Too many mismatches. They should have had Illinois play Hawaii and let USC play Ohio this next week to proove who the best really is.

Didn't go as I thought on the republican side, and I didn't think that Hillary would lose as bad as she did. But I am very happy that she lost, my hope is that she continues to lose badly and drops out of the race soon, it would be the best thing for the country to get Hillary out of the contest. I think that Mitt and McCain will do better in the upcoming events.

I didn't see many of the games I saw part of the Rose Bowl. I was getting a bathroom ready to sheetrock. I'll be doing the sheetrock tomorrow and then hopefully paint and tile withing the next two weeks. USC is the best team in the country now. LSU should not be playing in the Championship game.

LSU and Georgia should be playing.

That was my biggest problem with supporting the college games this year.  The BCS is stupid and doesn't even get the right teams in anymore, and there is a bowl game for everything under the sun.  laaaaame.

by the way, i was totally suprised by the Edwards deal.  I can't believe he beat Hillary.  I mean, who is voting for that guy?

Like I said back in September... The 3 Boston teams would be the champs this year. The Red Sox started it. The Patriots will follow and the Celtics will slam dunk it. Go Patriots!!!

the Colt's never get the respect they deserve.  I don't think the Pat's can beat them twice.

I think Edwards did as good as he did because of those Dems who fear Hitlary and don't trust that Obama would be a good president. I hate to bring out the ethnic card, but if Obama where a white guy with a Christian name, he would probably leave Hillary and Edwards smoking more that they already are. The Dem biggotts and sexists are keeping Edwards floating.

its about time we get a halfway decent symf.

in regards to hillary, i'm not concerned. next week we will see the tide turn and hillary will take new hampshire. then edwards will take south carolina and then we will see a close run between obama and clinton until clinton snatches the nomination in the end.

the patriots and colts may be the best contenders in your minds, but you are all leaving green bay out. the patriots need to watch out for when they finally face favre.

Melchor and i will agree on one thing... I like Green Bay, better than both the other teams.  But i was trying to be a realist.  I don't think they can beat either.  It would be nice.

As far as Hilary goes, i think Obama better watch his back.  The Clintons know how to make people disappear.  Obama should avoid plain ride and car accidents.  The Clintons have a well documented past of having tough problems end up in accidents.

Therefore, i think Hilary will be a contender.  However, I heard yesterday, that all Dem President hopefuls, that don't make the numbers are going to endorse Obama.  That could be an issue.

Hitlary won't get the nomination, for starters the nation is still sexist and will not elect a woman president, second the Oprah factor will pull many of the female voters to Obama and away from Hitlary and finally I think the country does want a change and a change means no Clinton's or Bush's in the white house.

Now as to the football, I think Indy can beat the Patriots if they take care of business. Who ever wins the AFC should win the super bowl as the AFC is just better than the NFC at the moment.

Now as to the BCS it is a mess. It should have been Hawaii and Ohio State they had the two best records. Hawaii played a soft schedule it is true but as has been played out all year in college football you have to beat the teams you played and Hawaii beat everyone they played. Ohio State and Kansas lost one game. I think USC is the best team in the nation but they lost twice so did LSU, Georgia, West Virginia, Missouri, and BYU. It is hard to go undefeated and prior to the bowl games only Hawaii was Undefeated and should have played for the Championship because of this. LSU should not even be in the picture like all the other two loss teams it should have come down to Hawaii vs Ohio State or Kansas. The BCS is garbage and wrong and as it has been seen this year a team can beat anyone on any given Saturday.

All those in favor of changing BCS to BSCF (Bull Crud College Football) say "aye".

As some of you know, my dad is a hard core, die hard Dem. This last Christmas we were talking politics and he said somethings that may me think. First off, he said that during the last 20 years, 2 families have led our country. If Hitlary is elected, then we would have a minimum of 24 years of Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton. This frightened him.

Next he said that because of the turmoil in the world (war in Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, another cold war with Russia, etc) and because of the energy crisis, threat of recession and so on, only a fool would want to be elected at this time. He said he predicts things to become worse and the next president will receive the sharp end of the sword of blame. Since he is a Dem, the last person he wants to see in the White House with this hanging over their head would be a Dem.

His next statement surprised me. He thinks the only candidate that may have the ability, experience and character to solve these problems would be Mitt. Hearing this from a non-mormon dem in Utah was a revelation to me.

The BSCF is good.

I would have to agree that Mitt is the one canidate that may be able to fix alot of the problems. He did it with the Olympics, he has done it with business and I think he could do it with politics. But who knows! Most of the canidates are wealthy politicians we need someone that is not a politician first or a lawyer. We need someone who knows Business becasue they know how to budget, and solve problems.

Out of the people left as contenders for the nomination,  I would have to go with Mitt.  I really like Fred better, but he isn't doing as well as i hoped. Hilary is the least person i would want to see in the white house, follows closely by Edwards. Edwards is just a fruitcake.

Guiliani isn't really a republican, McCain sucks on immigration, and plays both sides of the fence.

Huckabee hates Mormons, which doesn't work for me.

So that being said, i want to see a Obama, Mitt race.

OK, Here is my problem with Huckabee:

Foxnews:

Quote "Heading into next Tuesday’s New Hampshire primaries, Iowa caucus GOP winner Mike Huckabee and the New Hampshire poll leader John McCain are looking to take down Mitt Romney."

Followed by this, "“I think what you’re seeing is that Senator McCain and I both have an understanding about how to win the presidency, and it ought to be about our own ideas, not attacking each other,” Huckabee said."

McCain and Huckabee are going to "Take Down" Mitt, but out the other side of thier mouth, "they aren't going to attack each other".

What was his comment about Mormon's beliefs again? Was that an attack?

Interesting stat:

"In 2000, Bush roared out of Iowa, only to lose New Hampshire by a whopping 19 percentage points to Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz."

New Hampshire loves McCain.

Another interresting point of view from my Dem dad. During our last political conversation he told me that he will not be able to take having another person in the White House that believes the world was created in 7 days and that Southern Evangelicals are the worst sort that have this belief. He added that since Mormons believe in creative "periods" instead of "days", he could handle Mitt. Made me laugh.

The iowa vote shows the republicans have lost thier rudder and are adrift in a morass of their own making.

Kinda what happens when you have no principles.
