Alert: US Government Seizing Oil Profits!

These law makers are wacked. If they think the oil industry will absorb the loss of higher taxes then they are dumber than I thought. Not only will oil prices increase to make up the higher taxes, but this will give the oil industry less incentive to improve their infrastructure.

Good thing Bush is in office to veto this bill if it pases. However, one day it may pass because of the popularity of this kind of mentality; punish the productive and those who have the ability to make money.

Lets see we increase the taxes on the oil companies so they in turn raise the cost of the oil and the gas they produce enough to cover the increase. Now that sounds like a good idea, I wonder what kind of an effect will this have on the economy? I am sure that this will get all the press in the world right. I forgot the press won't tell the american people what is going on because this would mean that they are actually doing their job.

The next step is what they are doing right now. Cutting interrest rates, giving tax rebates (ha ha laugh) and telling us this is to offset the shadow of recession.

Then there will be an energy/gas crisis. The government will pass laws making those who have perfected alternative energy "give" their technology for the good of the people. The next move against sanity will be to make alternative energy less inviting to investors and inventors.

Since coal = electricity, we will have continued rolling blackouts in our nation. The less oil and natural gas we use, the more coal we need and more blackouts will occur. Eventually the government will need to sieze control of the electric companies or regulate them as if they owned them. Once this happens, we will have mandatory blackout times. We will not have access to electricity or be able to turn on our lights during certain periods of the day. This will cause health problems in the winter and summer months due to lack of heating/cooling. The wealthy looters of society (like Gore and other wackoes) and necessary businesses (like grocery stores and hospitals --oops... they will be nationalized too) will be able to purchase electricity credits to keep their homes warm/cool or businesses running.
