Speak Your Mind Friday - McCain hits a homerun

So after all my bad talk of McCain over that past year, (or more) i now have to stop and rethink my position.  McCain, who wrote his own speech last night, caught my attention.  He spoke what seemed to be from his heart, and being that he wrote that speech last night, i have to assume he meant what he said, and what he said was awesome.

I'm not refering to his account of Vietnam, although very powerful,.. it was his love of the country that caught my attention.  He truly loves this nation.  He loves what is stands for, he loves what it means.  I was pleasantly surprised.

I have to agree.  Splitt knows I've essentially always referred to McCain as a 'popularist' among other things.  But after last night I thought 'well, at least maybe his motivations for what he does might be pure.'  Hopefully that's the case, and hopefully he'll listen to his conservative base and his new VP and not make any stupid environmental or other decisions.

Unless McCain does something really, really stupid, I think we may have this election.

I have to agree with splitt, I am not a huge McCain fan but I think he is better than Obama and I think he has a great love for this country. Not to say that Liberals don't love or can't love our country but I think many of the liberal politicians are more interested in power than love of country. I am hopeful that McCain and Palin will win in November. There are many Liberals that do love our country and there are many who want to blame our country for all the worlds ills.

I still haven't got the point where i'm telling people to vote for McCain,.. i still go with the Vote for Palin!! tag line.

Oh, McCain is on that ticket too..  :-)

Exactly.........  You never know what the future may bring, possibly a Palin presidency before the next election cycle..........
